Southern Growers, a leading horticultural producer in Central Alabama, is seeking a Nursery Grower to manage and care for container-grown plants, trees, and shrubs. This role is perfect for someone with hands-on horticultural experience who takes pride in plant health and production quality.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily care of nursery crops including watering, fertilization, pruning, and pest management
Monitor plant health and implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies
Assist with propagation, transplanting, and crop scheduling
Maintain records of production, irrigation, and chemical applications
Operate nursery equipment safely, including tractors, sprayers, and irrigation systems
Collaborate with production and sales teams to ensure customer-ready crops
Maintain a clean and organized nursery environment

Requirements

Qualifications

Previous nursery or greenhouse experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of plant culture, growth cycles, and pest management
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
Familiarity with irrigation systems, tractors, and nursery machinery is a plus
Valid driver’s license
